Starlit nights exist only in my memory,
where the raven inscribes poems in the dawn.

Η αγάπη μου λεμονιά
με δώδεκα λεμόνια,
γλυκά και μυρωδάτα,
ανθίζει και καρπίζει
ασταμάτητα

winds of joy whisper in my mind.
I sense you everywhere, invisible presence,

Ιχθυοφάγοι
Ιχθυοφάγοι στη Γεδροσία
σερβίρουν ψάρια φτερωτά, ερωτευμένα,
που έχουν γεννήσει τα αυγά τους
στο γιόμα της σελήνης.
Τραγουδούν και τρώνε
από σκεύη γαλανόλευκα,
σαν τον αφρό της θάλασσας,
όμορφο λίκνο που πάνω του
θ’ αναπαυθούν τα ψαροκόκκαλα.
Τραγουδούν και χαίρονται οι Ιχθυοφάγοι
καθώς στα πόδια τους μικρές γοργόνες
κλέβουν στιχάκια και φτιάχνουν
τραγούδια υποβρύχια.
Fisheaters
Fisheaters in Gedrosia
serve winged fish
that spawn the fruit of their love
under a full moon.
Fisheaters sing and eat
out of blue and white vessels,
lovely cradles for the
leftover bones.
Fisheaters chant and revel
While young mermaids
Swim around their feet
stealing verses to turn them
into underwater songs.

Cycladic Idols
Arms crossed
below the breast.
Headless women
who neither see
nor hear.
They breathe
standing
still
through time.
Islanders
who communicate
silently, gracefully,
sending their thoughts
to the mysterious statues
of Easter Island.
